Had to start a new thread, some tag wasn't closed (Dave? That you?)

Hot mess is right, dang. That thing is hideous. Pic I posted of mine was just as it came out of the tank, didn't even rag it off. There's been some water in there for awhile....

Strainer is a bit smaller than a teabag, square, and mesh screen only. It's surrounded by that ball of steel and sits inside a rubber cup. Cup has a lightweight tube attached that runs up right side in picture thru a pair of clips to regulator. Not much to look at. Think I wiped the cam card but I'll check in the morning. Think you found your problem, John. That's a whole lot of ugly.

Might add the bung gasket to your order, and see torque specs in manual. If the $9 strainer works, you've saved $251 over list price.

Pump I bought came with connector/pigtail (matches OEM), hose clamps, hoses, and a bunch of other stuff. No lightweight tube, tho.
Don't recall any pump cushion - unless it was on one end...?

Hello
Cushion is at end of pump on inside of bracket. Some of the parts might work for baffle assembly and I have the bung gasket as well as all the OEM parts coming.

Cheers
John

I'm missing something here.... Cushion?

Intake end of pumps in photo show short tube and stud where teabag strainer mounts. The rubber cup (red in torque specs) fastens around body of pump with hose clamp just above strainer. Where would that cushion go?
The E16006 pump came with a bunch of rubber parts, including a 2-part rubber cover I used on new filter to compensate for filter's diameter, and what might be that cushion (not present on my old pump). There was nothing on intake end other than strainer and rubber cup holding ball of stainlesss steel surrounding strainer.

Hello
The cushion goes in-between the end of the fuel pump and bracket. I tried to show with cushion that came with the fuel pump (waiting for OEM one). See picture below.
Also the strainer fits, see picture below. No just waiting for the Triumph parts to come in to finish.

Cheers

John

Look at that, the $260 strainer for 9 bucks - great find!
My pump had no cushion, but I can see how it goes around strainer base now, thanks. Must have been a change along the way. On mine, that space is filled by the wad of SS - which is a curious part on its own. (Part 24 in diagram?)

Only time my tank has been empty - 0 miles remaining - was 60-mile ride home from Triumph dealer.

Hello,
Replaced everything except regulator. Started on first try. Thanks again for all your help.
Looking out the window after I had a visitor. Looks like it's going to be a good fall.

Cheers
John

Hello,

Thought I was out of the woods. Started the bike and went for a ride to see if everything was okay. Bike feels very sluggish and won't go faster than 70mph. Almost feels like " limp home mode". Stalled and performance was way off.
Hooked it up to Tunecu and no fault codes were present. When looking at sensors on Tunecu only one map sensor was showing voltage (#2).
Wondering if I could have knocked off the hose with all the tank work. I don't know if sensor is bad or if the hose came off. If hose did come off would this cause no voltage at sensor? See screenshot below. Looks like I'll be raising tank again.

Cheers
John

Before you raise the tank, use a flashlight and have a look. The underside of the MAP sensors are visible and see if the hoses are connected. Be carefull of the hot pipes or you'll get a " Triumph hickey ". If so than raise the tank and check the hoses/pipes also the elec. connector. A few of us have replaced the hoses with a one piece hose, be sure to do both and make them equal length.

Hello,
Checked the hoses without lifting the tank, they look intact. Weird how I'm not seeing voltage at MAP 1. The map hose came off long time ago once after I washed it. Dealer had a bulletin and fixed it.
Tank comes up soon. Thanks for the info.

Cheers
John
